What is naturopathy and what does a naturopath do?
If you’ve heard of naturopathy but aren’t quite sure what it means, this post is for you.
Naturopathy draws on long-standing traditional practices and blends them with modern clinical evidence.
At its core, naturopathy is based on the belief that the body has the ability to heal itself when the right conditions are in place. This approach is guided by the following principles:
Work with the body, not against it
Look for the underlying cause
Use the gentlest effective approach
Support the whole person
Make education part of care

What happens when you see a Naturopath?
Naturopaths look at the whole picture. We consider the body as having many systems that work together, alongside what’s happening in your life.
In a consultation, I explore your symptoms, health history, lifestyle, nutrition, stress, sleep, environment, and what you’re hoping to improve. I also observe your hair, skin, nails, tongue, and eyes to help build a clearer picture of what might be going on for you.
Sometimes, I may recommend blood tests or functional testing to support a more targeted treatment approach, but only if it will provide useful insights. After the consultation, you’ll receive a clear, simple treatment plan that explains everything we discussed. Your plan is always guided by your goals, ensuring the approach fits what matters most to you.
Why see a Naturopath?
Many people come when they feel unheard, when their symptoms don’t quite make sense on paper, or when they want support that looks at how everything in the body connects.
